The Adirondack North Country Recordings REIMAGINED
A selection of traditional songs on CD from Northern New York captured on early vinyl discs by a spirited local historian, reinterpreted by contemporary artists. Including Dan Berggren on “The Sailor’s Grave,” Dave Ruch on “The Days of ’49”, Bill Smith and Don Woodcock on “Bert LaFountain’s Packard,” and Colleen Cleveland on “Lord Ullin’s Daughter.” Seventeen great tracks in all.
TAUNY (Traditional Arts in Upstate NY) spearheaded this collaboration with Mountain Lake PBS, the Adirondack History Center Museum, and SUNY Plattsburgh Feinberg Library's Special Collections on this exciting and ground-breaking project that showcases and raises awareness of the folk music of New York’s Adirondack North Country.
